Override Request

There are a couple of different types of overrides.

  • A "full class" override is given when a class is full, but a student is given permission by the advisor to enroll anyway.
  • A "pre-requisite" override is unusual and is given when students are allowed to enroll into a class for which they do not meet the pre-requisites. Sometimes, students have satisfied the pre-requisites with a transfer course, but the computer system doesn't recognize it. This would be a good reason for a pre-requisite override.

Submit Override Request

You may submit an override request by completing the:

Your request is electronically submitted to the advisor, who reviews it and then notifies you whether the override can be given.

Please complete this form as thoroughly as possible. Missing information may cause delays in the processing of your request. You will be notified whether or not you have been given the requested override by e-mail or phone call.

  • Note: No overrides will be given for HSC 105. The course is offered online in the summer and is not major blocked at that time.
  • Majors in the School of Technology should speak with their academic advisor before requesting an override for HSC 271 or 272
