Scholarships & Awards

Each of the five degree programs in the Health Sciences department offers scholarships and awards each year on a competitive basis for its students. Application materials are made available to students in the fall and winter, and students are honored in the spring at the annual Student Recognition Day.

Health Promotion and Education Scholarships

  • Nolte Scholarships - Two $500 awards each year. Awarded for academic excellence, commitment to profession, and financial need.
  • Long Award - $250 toward the purchase of text books and other materials for school. Awarded for professional Development, with preference given to minority students.

Departmental Honors

The Department of Health Sciences offers qualified students the challenge and distinction of earning Departmental Honors through approved course work. Students completing the department’s requirements will receive an Honors degree in Health Sciences which will be indicated on the official transcript and diploma upon conferral. Program Scholars

Program Scholar is awarded to a graduating senior in the program who has the highest GPA and has completed 4 semesters plus 48 hours at Illinois State University.
