Admission to Environmental Health

Thank you for your interest in joining our community! Illinois State seeks a highly motivated, academically well-prepared, and diverse student body. Please review the following admissions information carefully. New freshmen, new transfer students and internal transfer students (current Illinois State University wanting to change their majors) desiring admittance to the Environmental Health (EH) program must meet the admission requirements established by the University.

New Students

Please review guidelines and projected application deadlines found on the Office of Admissions Web site. Priority consideration for admission will be given to outstanding students whose applications are complete and postmarked during the priority filing period for the term for which they are applying. Applications postmarked during the priority filing period may have an advantage when space is limited.

Transfer students should schedule an appointment with the departmental academic advisor for more information.

Current Students

To apply for a major or minor in Health Sciences, current ISU students go to and find the "Apply to Your Major" link on the Academics tab. Internal transfer students must be in good Academic Standing. Prospective Environmental Health majors are encouraged to have completed CHE 140, CHE 141, and MAT 119 before applying.  Beginning with Fall 2014, Environmental Health majors must earn grades of C or better in HSC courses counting in their major. Application period; always available.

Internal transfer students should schedule an appointment with the departmental academic adviser for more information.
