Environmental Health


Major

The Environmental Health major allows students to choose from a variety of elective courses, including: Occupational Health, Control of Institutional Environments, Industrial Hygiene, Water and Wastewater Control, Pollution Prevention, Food Protection, Environmental Toxicology, Air Quality and Pollution Control.

Environmental Health degree requirements and course descriptions can be found in the Illinois State undergraduate catalog, in the Department of Health Sciences' section. All courses listed here are three (3) semester hours each, unless otherwise noted.

Prerequisites

  • BSC 160: Microbiology
  • CHE 140: General Chemistry I (4 hrs)
  • PHY 105: Fundamentals of Physics (4 hrs)
    or PHY 108
  • MAT 119: College Algebra
  • CHE 141: General Chemistry II (4 hrs)
  • CHE 220: Elementary Organic
    Chemistry (5 hrs)
  • MAT 118: Elementary Mathematical Modeling
    for Applied Sciences and Technology (4 hrs) or MAT 145
  • KNR 182, 184: Human Anatomy and Physiology II (with Lab)
