Health Information Management Scholarships

The Health Sciences department offers scholarships and awards each year on a competitive basis for its students. Application materials are available by contacting the Department of Health Sciences main office at (309) 438-8329 or HSCInfo@illinoisstate.edu.  Scholarship recipients are honored in the spring at the annual Health Information Management Student Recognition Reception.

HIM Portfolio Award$200 award to a senior for producing a professional portfolio

Portfolios are evaluated by a panel of Illinois State University alumni from the Health Information Management program.

AHIMA Foundation Merit Scholarship - $1500 award for academic excellence, leadership, and professionalism.

HIMSS Foundation Scholarship - $5000 award for academic excellence, leadership, and professionalism.

Departmental Honors

The Department of Health Sciences offers qualified students the challenge and distinction of earning Departmental Honors through approved course work. Students completing the department’s requirements will receive an Honors degree in Health Sciences which will be indicated on the official transcript and diploma upon conferral. Additional information, including admission and program requirements.

Program Scholars

Program Scholar is awarded to a graduating senior in the program who has the highest GPA and has completed 4 semesters plus 48 hours at Illinois State University.
