There are two organizations on campus that are of particular interest to Safety students. Both organizations provide opportunities for leadership and professional development. Students have the opportunity to enhance their professional and personal growth by joining these clubs.
The Illinois State University Student Section of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) is an official affiliate chapter of ASSE national and of the Central Illinois Chapter of ASSE. The mission of this student section is to promote the field of occupational safety. Activities include monthly meetings, guest speakers, attendance at professional meetings, and field trips to industrial sites.
The student section coordinates Exchange Days and other opportunities for students to spend a day with a practicing safety professional. Student section members can attend the meetings of the parent chapter. Contact the Student Section Advisor Paul Ronczkowski for membership information.

The mission of this club is to promote the field of Industrial Hygiene. Activities include monthly meetings, guest speakers, attendance at professional meetings, and field trips to industrial sites.
